These terms govern the KeepAIOut website and desktop software license. Please read them before using the website, installing the client, or purchasing a license. Nothing here limits mandatory consumer rights.
01 / Operator & acceptance
KeepAIOut is operated by Mayi Network Technology Studio (玛谊网络科技工作室), an individual business operator in China, not a corporation. Contact: support@keepaiout.com. Installing or activating the software, or expressly accepting these terms at checkout, signifies agreement to the applicable terms. Do not install or purchase if you disagree. Purchasers must be at least 18 and legally able to contract, or act through a legally authorized guardian. Organization representatives must have authority to bind that organization.
02 / Desktop software, not a hosted writing service
KeepAIOut is a Windows desktop English text-polishing client with a self-developed rule-based editing engine. Every rewrite requires an internet connection: text or fragments go to our US server for tokenization, then the client rewrites locally. Tokenization text is processed only in memory and cleared on completion, without persistent text or request logs. It is not a fully offline application. Downloads, activation, updates, and support may also require network access. Hardware, memory, document size, and operating-system compatibility affect use. This website is not a live editor; see the Privacy Policy for data processing details.
03 / License & device bindings
A valid license grants a limited, non-exclusive right to install and use the client for lawful purposes during its term; software ownership is not transferred. After payment, each purchase email account may bind up to 5 computers in total, not 5 per order. If all 5 slots are occupied and another computer is needed, email support@keepaiout.com to request rebinding. The limit remains 5 after rebinding. Keep your purchase email and order reference available for ownership verification. Do not resell, sublicense, or publicly share license credentials without written authorization. Nothing in these terms restricts rights that applicable law makes non-waivable.
04 / Free trial & unlimited use
The free trial lasts 3 days and requires no login, account registration, payment, or payment-card details. It does not automatically convert to a paid license. After expiry, continuing text polishing requires a separately purchased license. During a valid trial or paid license term, there are no cumulative word quotas, use-count quotas, or credit deductions. Unlimited quotas do not mean infinite file size, guaranteed processing speed, or access to unlimited hosted computing.
05 / License terms & free upgrades
License plans are Monthly (1 month), 6-Month (6 months), Annual (12 months), and Lifetime (no fixed expiry). Each is a one-time purchase for the selected term, not an automatically renewing subscription. Start and end dates are displayed before payment and in the license record. Every plan, including the trial, includes free upgrades to released KeepAIOut software versions during its valid term. Lifetime also receives those upgrades throughout its term. Availability of future releases and compatibility with every future operating system are not guaranteed. Upgrading does not extend a fixed-term license. Expiry does not authorize deletion of your own documents.
Pricing06 / Prices, payments & delivery
Prices are in USD unless checkout expressly states otherwise. The final total, applicable taxes, seller or merchant-of-record details, payment descriptor, and delivery method must be shown before order confirmation. Payments are handled through Waffo Pancake; its applicable checkout terms also govern payment processing. Do not email card details to us. Enter a correct, reachable purchase email: it will be your software login account and identify your paid license. After confirmed payment, the license is delivered using the method stated at checkout. Contact support if payment succeeds but the license is not delivered. No recurring payment is authorized, no credits are sold, and uninstalling does not itself request a refund. Reference prices are not historical sales records. Future price changes do not retroactively change a completed purchase.
07 / Refund requests
Within 7 calendar days after your first paid license purchase, you may request a full refund without giving a reason by emailing support@keepaiout.com from the purchase email with the order reference. All plan durations, including Lifetime, are eligible for a qualifying first purchase. Activation or ordinary use alone does not remove eligibility. We aim to acknowledge requests within 2 business days and decide within 5 business days. Approved refunds return to the original payment method through Waffo Pancake; bank posting times vary, and the corresponding paid license is revoked. Do not send passwords or card details. Any legally required consent for immediate digital delivery is collected separately at checkout; these terms alone do not waive withdrawal rights.

- Requests made more than 7 calendar days after the first purchase, or for subsequent purchases, renewals, upgrades, or plan changes, do not qualify for this voluntary no-reason refund policy. A later change of mind or no longer needing the software is not, on its own, a contractual refund entitlement outside that policy.
- We cannot issue a second refund for an already refunded order. If an order or ownership cannot be verified, processing is paused while we request reasonable evidence; this is not an automatic final denial. Do not use fabricated orders, false identities, or other fraudulent claims. Any refusal based on proven fraud or repeated abuse must include a reason and an opportunity to appeal by email.
These exclusions apply only to our voluntary no-reason policy. Defective software, material non-conformity, failed delivery, duplicate or unauthorized charges, statutory withdrawal rights, and other mandatory remedies are assessed separately under applicable law and payment rules. Merely installing, activating, or using the software does not remove such rights. We do not refuse a legally required refund because a trial was available, a license was activated, or a chargeback was raised.
08 / Billing questions & disputes
For an incorrect charge, failed delivery, refund status, or license mismatch, contact support@keepaiout.com with the order reference and purchase email. We encourage contacting support first so we can investigate, but do not require you to give up payment disputes, chargeback rights, or statutory deadlines. Do not submit sensitive card data. We do not currently collect payments on this website.
09 / Your content & software rights
You retain rights you already hold in your drafts and edits; we do not acquire ownership merely because you use the client. You must have permission to edit the source material. Local processing does not grant us a license to publish your drafts or train on them. Any content voluntarily sent to support is used to handle that request, subject to applicable privacy rules. Editing does not create rights in infringing material or guarantee copyright protection, originality, accuracy, or acceptance by a publisher. The software, rule sets, branding, and documentation remain with their respective rights holders. Third-party component licenses remain applicable.
10 / Acceptable use
Use the client lawfully. Do not create or facilitate pornography/NSFW or non-consensual intimate content; graphic violence or threats; hate speech; child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or other child-unsafe content; deepfakes, impersonation, or fabricated statements attributed to real people; or copyright/trademark infringement. Do not use it for fraud, harassment, phishing, malware, unauthorized access, or evasion of license protections. Do not misrepresent AI-assisted work where disclosure is required, or represent edits as verified professional medical, legal, or financial advice. Report suspected misuse or appeal a decision at support@keepaiout.com. The linked responsible-use policy provides additional product-specific explanations.
Responsible use11 / Privacy & local files
Every rewrite sends text or fragments to our US tokenization server before local editing. The server processes text in memory without retention or request logging. We do store records needed for active paid licensing and device bindings; unnecessary old records are deleted within 30 days after termination or rebinding. Support records are retained for 1 month, with mandatory transaction retention handled separately. Waffo Pancake, Tawk.to, and website analytics have separate data practices. See the Privacy Policy. Keep backups of your local files and do not send secrets through support.
Privacy Policy12 / Results, warranties & liability
Review all edits for meaning, facts, and suitability. Results depend on the text and context. We do not guarantee scores or passing outcomes on third-party evaluation tools, academic results, or publication acceptance. To the extent law allows, the software is provided as available without additional promises beyond the expressly agreed features. Nothing excludes mandatory consumer guarantees, remedies for defective digital products, or liability that cannot legally be limited, including fraud or intentional misconduct where applicable. Any permitted limitation of liability must be interpreted consistently with those rights; these terms do not impose a blanket no-refund or no-liability rule.
13 / Expiry, suspension & termination
You may stop using and uninstall the client at any time; refund requests remain subject to section 7. A fixed-term license expires at its stated end date without automatic renewal. For confirmed serious misuse, fraud, or a legal requirement, we may suspend or revoke the affected license to the extent technically and legally permitted. Where lawful and practical, we will explain the reason and allow an appeal through support. We do not claim remote access to or deletion of local drafts. If we terminate a prepaid fixed-term license for reasons other than your breach, we will refund the unused portion; Lifetime remedies are assessed under the purchase terms and applicable law. Non-waivable rights survive termination.
14 / Governing law & changes
Applicable law and the competent court are determined by the relevant conflict-of-law and jurisdiction rules, including mandatory consumer protections. These terms do not impose an exclusive forum or compulsory arbitration. You may contact support@keepaiout.com to seek an informal resolution without giving up legal remedies. Material revisions will be notified before taking effect and consent obtained where required; they will not retroactively remove paid license rights or statutory remedies. If a provision is invalid, the remainder applies only to the extent lawful. Read these terms together with the pricing, privacy disclosure, and order summary.
